The testing method for the gas-filled aluminum powder paste for customers
1 Take 0.1 gr of aluminium in the plastic spoon
2 Filling erlenmeyer flask by 50ml of saturated Ca(OH)2 solution
3 Place plastic spoon with aluminium on the solution surface in erlenmever flask (spoon is floating on solution)
4 Close tightly the erlenmever flask by a rubber button with stopwatch mounted
5 Start heating water in graduated cylinder by cooker until temperature of water reaches 45-50oC then stop heating
6 Shake the erlenmeyer flask so that aluminium in the spoon can be dispersed into Ca(OH)2 solution. Aluminium will react with Ca(OH)2 solution and generate gas H2, which will change level of water in the graduated pipet of the Apparatus
7 Repeat record volume of gas at each 1 minute until water level in the pipet is stopped that is aluminium stopped generating gas.
Some customers raw material CaO that boils within about 30 seconds, requiring the aluminum powder paste to react at the same rate as the other materials. If other raw materials react quickly while the aluminum powder paste reacts slowly, hydrogen gas (H2) will generate, and the high viscosity of the slurry may cause cracks in the AAC blocks.
There have other customers use calcium oxide that takes several minutes then react, requiring the aluminum powder paste to react at a relatively slower speed.
